During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Government of the country to provide sufficient irrigation water to agricultural lands. During the meeting, the Head of State addressed to Vice Prime Minister Esenmurat Orazgeldiyev and instructed him to take control over the implementation of the task.
The Turkmen leader noted that this spring was characterized by insufficient precipitation. In the future, this will cause a shortage of water. The President gave instructions to assess rivers and reservoirs for their fullness as soon as possible. If necessary they must be cleaned. In addition, it was instructed to introduce innovative water-saving technologies in the agricultural sector.
The President stressed that the Deputy Prime Minister, together with the heads of ministries and departments subordinate to him, should make more frequent visits to etraps in order to get acquainted with the activities of daikhan associations, monitor the progress of sowing cotton. Officials should promptly provide assistance in the implementation of the Program aimed at reforming the agricultural sector.
The Turkmen leader also touched upon the State Land Cadastre. The head of the state stressed that this document was particularly important for strengthening food prosperity in Turkmenistan. That is why the Government, with the assistance of both chambers of the national Parliament, should start preparing it as soon as possible.
