Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposes to expand cooperation between CA countries and GCC in the field of transportation and energy

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the summit of the Cooperation Council of Central Asia and the Persian Gulf on July 19, where he proposed to expand cooperation in transport and energy spheres. This is reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.

President Berdimuhamedov noted that in order to unite the regions of Central Asia and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, it is important to form new transport and transit corridors, stable and reliable logistics infrastructure. He proposed to establish a Transport Committee of the Central Asian and GCC format countries to coordinate efforts in the transportation sector.

President Berdimuhamedov also emphasized the importance of energy and noted that the Summit countries have rich sources of energy, fuel and energy resources and serious production capacities for their processing. He proposed to form a Joint Working Group on Energy to analyze opportunities for joint activities in the energy sector and hold consultations.

The President's proposals were supported by other leaders of the summit countries. They agreed that increased cooperation in transportation and energy is necessary for the region's economic development.
