Serdar Ataev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, was unanimously elected as the head of the Statistics Committee of the International Kurash Association. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
Voting was held in the conference hall of the Sport Hotel of the Olympic City of Ashgabat. 53 delegates of the Association Congress took part in the procedure.
The Turkmenistan Kurash Wrestling Federation joined the International Kurash Association, Confederation of Kurash of Asia and Oceania in 2015. Since then, Turkmen wrestlers have participated in four World Belt Wrestling Championships in Iran, Turkey, the Republic of Korea and India, where they won a total of 21 medals.
