The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan was held yesterday at the Mukam Palace in Ashgabat. The event is aimed at strengthening friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries and exchange of cultural values. The information is reported by the daily informational newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
As the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova, who arrived in the Turkmen capital the previous day to participate in the event, noted in her speech, the Tatar and Turkmen peoples are united by the commonality of cultural traditions and historical roots.
The event also included the opening of an exhibition of Tatar arts and crafts and a photo exhibition of Tatarstan's monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In addition, guests and residents of Ashgabat were able to enjoy the performance of creative teams of Tatarstan. Their big concert was held on the stage of the Mukam Palace.
Within several days, guests from Tatarstan will also perform in other cities of Turkmenistan. The event will end on October 19 with a friendship concert at the Mukam Palace in the Turkmen capital.
