Turkmenistan plans to launch a second communications satellite

Turkmenistan is working on the second communication satellite project. This was announced by Batyr Orazdurdyev, director of YPGJ "Turkmen Satellite", during the international conference "Turkmentel-2022".
- The Turkmen Alem 52E communications satellite has served half of its service life. We are currently planning the second project of the communication satellite. " It is planned to increase the technical capabilities of the communication satellite through the use of modern space technologies while maintaining the current frequency, expand the coverage area through the use of additional frequencies, as well as improve the ground infrastructure," said Batyr Orazdurdyev.
According to Orazdurdyev, the implementation of this project is included in the "Program of socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028 of the President of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan's first communications satellite, Turkmen Alem 52E, was put into orbit on April 28, 2015 by a U.S. Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral. It has a service life of 15 years. The satellite covers most of Central Asia and part of Europe.
