Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin said that the Russian company Gazprom has purchased 5 billion cubic meters of gas in Turkmenistan in 2022. Information about this was published on the website of the TASS news agency.
According to the contract signed between Gazprom and Turkmenistan, Gazprom purchased 10 billion cubic meters of gas in 2021, and in 2022 the volume of gas supplies was fixed at 5 billion cubic meters.
The agreement on annual gas supplies between the countries was prolonged and will be valid until 2024. The diplomat noted that the supply of more gas from Turkmenistan will depend on the availability of opportunities on the Turkmen side.
Alexander Blokhin announced mutual interest in the creation of underground gas storage facilities, which is currently under negotiation.
