Turkmenistan to become a transit hub between Europe and Asia

During his speech at the opening of the investment forum on sustainable transport Global Gateway in Brussels, Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Annaev said that Turkmenistan could become an important transit hub between Europe and Asia. This is reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

Recently, Turkmenistan has been actively developing sustainable transport infrastructure - more than 5000 km of railroads have been built, an international seaport in Turkmenbashi with a capacity of 17 million tons per year has been put into operation, new airports and the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway are under construction.

During the forum the issues on development of sustainable transport communication between Central Asia and Europe were discussed. Attention was paid to the topical issues of reducing the time of cargo delivery and improving infrastructure.
