The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Minister of Economy and Finance M. Astanagulov is taking part in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), which is held in Seville from June 30 to July 3.
The conference is attended by heads of state and government, the UN Secretary-General, heads of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the WTO and other international organizations.
The head of the Turkmen delegation noted the importance of the updated global approach to financing for development, which is reflected in the Final Document of the conference. M. Astangulov stressed that Turkmenistan would follow the recommendations of the document, including the implementation of the Action Program for landlocked countries.
The conference discusses reforming financing systems at the global, national and local levels to transform the international financial architecture and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event focuses on the development of sustainable transportation systems, logistics interconnectivity and transport and communications infrastructure in the context of global economic transformation.
Participants expressed confidence in the importance of the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries as a platform for dialogue on financing for sustainable development.
