Turkmen delegation took part in the UNESCO conference in Paris

On December 13 this year, UNESCO Headquarters in Paris hosted an international conference dedicated to the round date - 950th anniversary of the first encyclopedic dictionary of the Turkic language "Diwan Lugat at-Turk". This is reported on the website Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

The conference was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions of Turkic states accredited in France, scientists and experts from Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries, Secretaries General of UNESCO National Commissions.

The ancient dictionary is a significant cultural monument of the Turkic peoples and a true treasure of mankind. The conference featured scientific reports by UNESCO and representatives of international organizations, as well as speeches by world-renowned experts in oriental studies and Turkicology.

It was noted that at the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO the 950th anniversary of "Diwan Lugat at-Turk" was included in the list of UNESCO anniversaries for 2024-2025.
