The main New Year's tree in Ashgabat, installed on the square of the cultural and entertainment center "Alem", was recognized as the highest in the CIS - its height was 44 meters. This is reported by the online edition turkmenportal.com with reference to the data of the tourist portal "TourStat".
Ashgabat New Year's tree is recognized as the tallest in the CIS for the fourth time, and its height is getting bigger every year. This year, Turkmenistan's central New Year's tree was constructed of Siberian fir branches. It was decorated with 4,000 toys and 55,000 LED bulbs.
The rating is based on the results of the analysis of the height of the central New Year trees in the capitals of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The top 10 included Yerevan (37 m), Tashkent (35 m), Baku (34 m), Bishkek (32 m), Minsk (30 m), Dushanbe (30 m), Moscow (25 m), Astana (25 m) and Almaty (20 m).
