Turkmen tennis player wins gold medal at AFT tournament

Turkmen tennis player Imran Akhundov won a gold medal in a pair with Pakistani athlete Zohaib Afzal Malik at the Asian Tennis Federation tournament among players under 14 years old held in Dushanbe on March 15. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The young Turkmen athlete, a pupil of the Ashgabat Tennis Academy, has already won 5 medals since the beginning of 2023. In addition to the victory in Dushanbe, Imran was awarded a bronze medal in doubles at the qualifying tournament of the Asian Championship among players under 14 in Bahrain.

Later, he won bronze at the Asia/Oceania Zone Junior World Qualification Championships. In March, Imran won medals in silver and bronze while participating in Tajikistan's first Asian Tennis Federation Dushanbe Open tournament among under-14 players.
