Political consultations between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan were held in the Afghan capital of Kabul. The ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries announced their positions on the main nuances of the negotiating agenda. Meredov and Atmar noted the effectiveness of the bilateral dialogue at the highest and highest levels, which is conducive to strengthening the political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian partnership between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
The talks resulted in the signing of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Cooperation Program for 2021-2022.
The sixth meeting of the bilateral security cooperation commission also took place. The sides discussed the vision of strengthening cooperation to counter modern threats and challenges - terrorism, extremism and cyber attacks. Representatives of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan expressed readiness to expand cross-border and information cooperation.
