On the eve of the spring holiday Novruz, the city of Mary hosted the city stage of the Olympics in national sports: wrestling gorosh, "yaglyga tovusmak" and table games duzum and chess. About 130 athletes took part in the tournament.
The association of trade unions of Mary velayat was the organizer of the competition. The venue of the competition was a secondary vocational oil and gas school in Mary.
Special attention was paid to the pelvans in the wrestling gorosh, where the students of the State Power Engineering Institute won the most gold medals. At the same time there were competitions in "yaglyg tovusmak" in which 19 athletes fought for the first place. Here Victor Loiko, teacher of the secondary vocational oil and gas school, was the most agile and jumping one.
In the chess battle the best among men was Chary Yalkanov. Ejegyz Yalkanova won the women's category. In the game of duzum the first place among men was taken by Kerven Haytiev, among women - by Aydzhan Allaberdiyeva.
The winners and medalists were honored in a festive atmosphere. They were given memorable gifts from the organizers of the Spartakiade.
