The festival of Turkmen theatrical art ended in Ashgabat, which was the most important event for both stagehands and theatergoers in the capital of Turkmenistan. Creative teams from all over the country submitted their works to the contest. In the near future the competent jury will select winners in various nominations.
Audience members who came to the performances were able to see a wide variety of theatrical productions based on the national cultural heritage.
The festival opened with the play "The Legend of Sultan's Truth", staged by the Mollanepes Student Theater. Directors-directors were A. Saparmukhammedov and M. Kasymov. The plot is based on one of the parables described in the book "Spiritual Myrtle of Turkmens" by Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.
The National Drama Theatre of Alp Arslan presented the play "Seyitnazar Seidi" directed by H. Berdyev to the jury. The State Russian Drama Theatre named after Pushkin organized "The Happiness of Turkmens" specially for the festival. It is directed by O. Volkova. The performance is based on the poems of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
The Makhtumkuli Music and Drama Theatre staged "Ode to Khabrosti" directed by honored worker of culture A.Batyrov. The Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan presented "The Wisdom Tree" directed by E. Ishanguliyev to the audience and the jury.
The State Puppet Theater did not stand aside either, presenting its production "History of Melodies" for the contest.
Regional theaters also took part in the festival - a video link was organized for this purpose. The performances of Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary theaters were demonstrated on a large monitor installed on the stage of the Alp Arslan Drama Theater in the capital.
