A new international airport complex will be built in Turkmenistan

At the weekly government meeting on July 1, 2022, President Berdymukhamedov signed a decree approving the construction of an international air terminal complex in Jebel Township.

At the disposal of 6 aircraft and 4 helicopters will be a new runway length of 3200 meters and 2 taxiways. The complex is planned to be equipped with a specialized airfield and ground handling facilities for airliners.

The construction of an international airport was already started last year in the urban-type settlement of Jebel in Balkan Velayat, where the new complex is to be built.

The aforementioned village is located on the railway line between Turkmenbashi and Ashgabat. The new air terminal complex will have a capacity of 100 passengers per hour.

In connection with the construction there will be 200 new vacancies for the employees of the complex, located on an area of 275 hectares.
