On the occasion of the International Neutrality Day the Turkmenistan Peace Fund Board, the Central Council of the Youth Organization named after Makhtumkuli of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the editorial board of the magazine "World Literature" jointly announced a creative contest "Art that unites hearts" among young translators. This is reported in the electronic version of the magazine.
Students studying at higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of Turkmenistan can take part in the competition.
The conditions of the contest are the following: the translator must write an essay stating his/her understanding, thoughts and attitude to the art of translation, what requirements he/she pays more attention to when translating, what rules he/she follows, whom he/she considers worthy of imitation, and he/she must translate a small part of a work of a world-known writer or poet into the Turkmen language and submit it to the contest until November 15, 2022.
Contest participants should send their works with the signature "Art that Unites Hearts" and send their personal data (certificate, passport copy, 3x4 photo, exact address, phone numbers) to the e-mail address of World Literature magazine: duniaedebiyaty@sanly.tm.
The organizers form a jury that selects the best of the works submitted to the contest, and the most expressive translations will be published in World Literature magazine.
The results of the competition will be summed up in December 2022 on the eve of the International Neutrality Day. The winners of the competition will be awarded certificates of merit and valuable gifts, as well as incentive prizes.
