Digital transformation of LLDCs discussed in Turkmenistan

The Civil Society Forum continued its work in the format of thematic sessions

Ashgabat, August 5 - Arzuw.news. Within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the Civil Society Forum continued its work in the format of thematic sessions. This is reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.

At the session "Digital Economy, Innovation and Sustainable Development", participants explored opportunities for digital transformation and ways to achieve inclusive sustainable development. Special attention was paid to the need to ensure equal access to digital technologies, strengthen infrastructure and improve the security of digital networks.

The discussion focused on measures to support innovation ecosystems for the development of startups, application of advanced technologies and productivity growth. The participants considered the role of transformational technologies, including artificial intelligence and blockchain, in the implementation of the Avaza Action Agenda.

The Avaza program aims to remove infrastructure barriers associated with the geographical location of landlocked developing countries. Innovative solutions should increase the efficiency of public administration, improve access to education and health care, and simplify logistics and trade.

Universal access to digital and mobile services is a key challenge for Turkmenistan. The country is implementing major projects to create a communications system based on advanced technologies and to provide access to the Internet in remote regions.
