In Turkmenistan, the practical implementation of a large-scale project to build a ring energy system has begun. The customer of the construction is GEC "Türkmenenergo", and the general contractor is Concern "Turkmenenergostroy". The Asian Development Bank provided a soft loan to realize the set task. All necessary equipment, vehicles and materials have already been purchased using the funds received. Contacts for fulfillment of the required list of works were concluded.
The general contractor has already started the construction of reinforced concrete bases for the Balkan-Dashoguz and Akhal-Balkan power lines. At the same time, the construction of the Serdar-2020 power substation has started.
The first section will be 450 km long. In addition, the builders of the ring power system will install 560 km of overhead power lines, which will supply 500 kV. It is also planned to commission four substations. Two of them will have a voltage of 500/220/110 kV, and the other two will have a voltage of 220/110 kV.
The Concern's specialists note that in order to speed up construction, the route will be divided into several sections. At each of them, the installation of high-voltage electric poles and the installation of power lines will start simultaneously. All of the equipment that is supposed to be installed fully complies with current European standards. Çalik Enerji (Turkey) will be hired to install telemechanics and SCADA systems for power lines and communications.
Implementation of the project will make it possible to solve a number of tasks, including ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the regions, increasing the export potential of the energy industry, rational use of energy resources and improving energy efficiency.
