Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan voiced an initiative on transition to a closed economy

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov spoke at the World Government Summit with an initiative to develop a Global Framework for the transition to a circular economy based on the priorities of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is reported by CentralAsia.news.

Deputy Prime Minister noted that the main task of the governments of the countries is rational management of natural resources and reduction of negative impact on the environment. In this regard, Turkmenistan proposes to develop a Global Framework Program for Transition to a Closed Cycle Economy.

The program will have four elements, including core indicators, international cooperation on critical resources, the establishment of a Global Closed Loop Technology Innovation Fund, capacity building and knowledge sharing.
