During 31 years of independence more than $ 2 billion were invested in the development of textile industry of Turkmenistan. Money made it possible to reconstruct the existing enterprises and build new modern textile complexes.
The light industry is one of the priority industries in Turkmenistan. At present, more than 70 enterprises related to the textile industry, including shoe and clothing factories and weaving companies, have been established.
As part of the reconstruction, many plants were modernized and new modern equipment from world-renowned manufacturers was installed.
Thanks to a sectoral program of re-equipment of the textile industry, it was possible to expand the range of products produced in the country and reduce the share of imports in the industry.
