Turkmenistan showed GDP growth of 6.3% for eight months

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in the digital format, where the results of the work of state bodies for eight months of 2025 were summarized. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimiradov reported an increase in gross domestic product by 6.3% compared to the same period last year. Industry showed an increase of 1.5%, construction - by 7%, transportation sector - by 11%.

Other economic indicators also showed positive dynamics. Retail trade turnover increased by 13.1%, foreign trade turnover increased by 5.5%, and wages of citizens increased by 11.9%. The state budget was executed by 100% in revenues and 97.4% in expenditures.

Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova reported on the adoption of 15 legislative acts for January-August, including the new Civil Code of Turkmenistan and the law on the jubilee medal for the 30th anniversary of neutrality. The Parliament also accepted 7 credentials from ambassadors of different states and held 47 meetings on bilateral cooperation.

In agriculture, the production growth rate amounted to 110.4%, the plan on investment development was fulfilled by 245.3%. The construction-industrial complex showed fulfillment of the plan by 107.1%.

Foreign Minister R. Meredov reported on holding 386 online meetings of various levels and signing 117 international documents. Presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, King Eswatini and other dignitaries visited Turkmenistan during the reporting period.

The President gave his blessing for the start of wheat sowing on September 3 in all velayats of the country. Festivities are planned in September to mark the 34th anniversary of independence, including a ceremonial parade in front of the State Tribune.
