Turkmenistan athlete takes silver at Judo Championship in Rome

Turkmen judoka Serdar Rakhimov won a silver medal, having won the second place in the European Open Championship, which ended recently in the capital of Italy. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The 2-day tournament gathered 381 athletes from all five continents and 34 countries of the world. The honor of Turkmenistan was defended by 16 judokas, including 11 men and 5 women.

Serdar Rakhimov took the 2nd place in the weight category up to 66 kg, in which 37 athletes from 17 countries were represented. To achieve the honorable silver award, the Turkmen athlete won 4 fights, winning all of them cleanly. The opponents of Serdar Rakhimov were athletes from Canada, Great Britain and Italy.
