On September 3, Turkmenistan launched a large-scale sowing campaign of winter wheat, which is held simultaneously in all velayats of the country with the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
According to the folk tradition, the aksakals were given the honorable right to start sowing. They threw the first seeds of winter wheat with the words "Her bir dänäň müň bolsun!" and passed the baton to the mechanizers.
At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 29, the head of state emphasized that the ongoing agrarian reforms are aimed at increasing the volume of high-quality agricultural products and ensuring food abundance. President Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of organized sowing season within the agro-technical terms and wished success to the farmers and toilers of the countryside.
Farmers thoroughly prepared for the campaign: timely cultivated and fertilized agricultural lands, prepared quality seeds and machinery.
The development of the agricultural sector remains a priority area of government policy to strengthen the country's economic power and improve the welfare of the population. As part of the agrarian reform, measures are being taken to digitalize the sector, introduce modern technologies, and build agro-processing enterprises, elevators and fertilizer plants.
The "President's Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028" and the "National Program for the Transformation of the Social and Living Conditions of the Population until 2028" are being implemented.
On the occasion of the beginning of sowing, seminars were organized in all regions with the participation of representatives of khakimliks, heads of daikhan associations, agronomists and mechanizers. Exhibitions of agricultural products and modern special equipment, concert programs of artists and creative groups were also held.
