On April 30, the National Day of the Turkmen Horse was celebrated throughout Turkmenistan. The newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" reports on the festive events in the country.
Concerts with the performance of creative groups, conferences, contests, festivals and exhibitions were held in Akhal velayat. A marathon race of racehorses was held last week. During the celebration, the results of a beauty contest among horses were summarized, as well as the results of a creative competition.
In Balkan velayat, an exhibition of arts and crafts was held near the monument to the Akhalteke horse. The works of craftsmen and craftswomen were presented. One could see skillfully made carpet and leather goods. There was a concert with participation of masters of arts, where traditional songs and melodies were performed.
Dashoguz province celebrated the holiday with a colorful concert. An exhibition of samples of equestrian equipment, accessories for jockeys and craftsmen's products was organized.
A festive concert was held in the equestrian complex of Lebap velayat, a book exhibition and an exposition of works by velayat artists were organized. A whole town of yurts was set up in Sayat etrap, saplings were planted, and rope-walkers performed.
In Mary velayat, festive events were held at the Museum of History and Local Lore. An exhibition of artists was held on the square of the equestrian complex, and a concert of sports, dance and vocal groups was held.
