President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has congratulated his compatriots on the World Environment Day. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The President emphasized that the Turkmen people have always cherished nature. At present, the country also attaches great importance to environmental well-being.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is implementing programs on greening cities, carrying out reforms aimed at enriching and researching flora and fauna. The country is successfully fulfilling the tasks corresponding to the National Strategy of Turkmenistan on Climate Change and the National Forest Strategy.
The President's address also focused on improving legislation on environmental protection and Turkmenistan's accession to the relevant UN Conventions in order to address the challenges of sustainable development.
