UNDP held a meeting on updating Turkmenistan's climate commitments

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized a national working meeting on updating Turkmenistan's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) under the Paris Climate Agreement. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the UNDP Press Service in Turkmenistan.

The event was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.

The updated SNAP 3.0 includes more specific commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhanced climate change adaptation measures. The new plan plans to integrate biodiversity, land degradation and climate finance.

The update emphasizes private sector engagement and social inclusiveness in climate initiatives.

OUVs represent a key element of the Paris Agreement and serve as a critical tool for achieving its long-term climate change goals.

UNDP in Turkmenistan is providing technical support to the global Climate Pledge 2 initiative to strengthen national climate commitments of developing countries.
