During a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and UNEP Executive Director Ms. Inger Andersen on the margins of the SOR28 Summit in Dubai on December 1, it was noted that Turkmenistan hopes to continue productive cooperation with UNEP on specific climate change adaptation projects in the Caspian region. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The Executive Director of the UN Environment Program highly appreciated Turkmenistan's activities in the environmental sphere, in particular, the initiatives put forward by the country and invaluable contribution to the solution of priority environmental tasks.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest and readiness to continue effective cooperation in accordance with the sustainable development goals.
