The President of Turkmenistan made a working visit to China

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has completed a working visit to the People's Republic of China, which confirmed the many thousands of years of contacts between the ancestors of Turkmens and Chinese. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen leader noted that the two countries base their relations on the historical foundation of friendship, mutual trust and millennia-old traditions of good-neighborliness. According to him, Turkmenistan and China are loyal friends, strategic partners and like-minded people with a unique type of relationship.

Throughout history, the Chinese Empire maintained close contacts with the ancient ancestors of Turkmens - Oghuz, Huns, Massagetes, Parthians and Gok-Türks. The two largest Asian civilizations - Turkic and Chinese - concluded dynastic marriages, alliance treaties, actively traded and exchanged military and cultural achievements.

Oguz ambassadors took part in palace ceremonies, taking seats next to the Chinese emperor. At that time, a Sino-Turkic dictionary was compiled, which, unfortunately, has not survived to this day.

Over 10 thousand Oghuz families moved to China. Under their influence, in the 8th century, a fashion for Turkic music and clothing arose in the Celestial Empire. The emperor of China was sent "heavenly horses" - famous Akhalteke horses - as diplomatic gifts.
