An introductory workshop on the project "Strengthening Turkmenistan's capacity to comply with the Enhanced Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement" was held on February 6. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The project was approved by the GEF Secretariat based on the project concept of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Government of Turkmenistan.
FAO is funding a project to monitor Turkmenistan's compliance with climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. FAO National Consultant on Enhanced Transparency Framework Nazar Allaberdiev presented the national strategies on climate change mitigation and implementation of the Paris Agreement. The workshop participants discussed further steps of the project implementation and exchanged views on the project activities.
