On September 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where a number of priority issues of state life were put on the agenda, TDH reports.
In the course of the meeting it was reported on preparations for the national forum Halk Maslakhaty, timed to the 33rd anniversary of independence of the Fatherland, on the results of the Investment Forum, international conference on attracting high technologies and innovations to the economy of Turkmenistan, as well as specialized exhibitions held in Ashgabat on September 10-11, on the opening ceremony and laying of major facilities related to oil and gas, energy, transport and logistics and communication sectors.
Information was also given on the activities being carried out to discover and develop the country's territories rich in hydrocarbon resources, as well as to improve the material and technical base of the oil and gas industry.
During the meeting it was reported on the ongoing work on sowing wheat, ongoing cotton harvest, creation of reserve stocks of fodder for livestock farms, increasing the number of Akhal-Teke horses, ensuring proper care for them and preserving the purity of the breed.
It was also noted about preparation for the meeting of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production of the Commonwealth of Independent States scheduled for September 16 this year, and the international scientific conference "Achievements in the field of seed production of agricultural crops and promising tasks" scheduled for September 19-20.
During the meeting, information was given on the work being carried out in the capital city in preparation for the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. On the eve of the main holiday of the country, necessary measures are being taken to decorate the city festively, turn Ashgabat into a blooming garden, create the most favorable conditions for cultural recreation of residents and guests of the city, and hold the planned events at a high level.
Four 9-storey 54-apartment and nine 9-storey 36-apartment apartment buildings, as well as a park are scheduled to be inaugurated in the Parahat-7 residential complex of Ashgabat city.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Atdaev reported on the work on organizing an exhibition of economic achievements dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, the opening of which is scheduled for September 19.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Mammadova reported on the creative contests announced on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B.Orazdurdyeva reported on the upcoming international Olympiads and scientific-practical conferences in higher educational institutions of the country.
Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the measures taken to enhance international cooperation of Turkmenistan in the digital sphere. In this context, a number of proposals were submitted to the head of state for consideration.
In particular, it is proposed to develop an action plan to bring the domestic legislative framework into line with modern norms of international law. In this connection, it is envisaged to organize seminars and conferences with international partner organizations on a regular basis in order to consider the possibilities of Turkmenistan's accession to the conventions adopted in the area of digitalization, as well as the modernization of national legislation in accordance with international instruments.
Along with this, it is proposed to hold an interregional Dialogue on the development of digital cooperation in Ashgabat in November 2024.
In continuation of the report, a proposal was made to develop a Program of Cooperation with Technologically Advanced Countries of the World in Ensuring Cybersecurity of the Digital System for 2025-2027. In this context, it is envisioned that domestic specialists will regularly familiarize themselves with systemic measures taken in foreign countries to ensure cybersecurity and protection of information technologies and share their experience.
It is also proposed to further strengthen cooperation with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office for the protection of the digital system. At the same time, Turkmenistan's active participation in 2024-2025 in activities and projects carried out by this specialized UN structure in a number of topical areas, such as prevention of cyberterrorism on the Internet, protection of key infrastructures from cyberattacks, etc., seems appropriate.
In addition, it is proposed to build up partnership with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in such areas as cyber security, digitalization of government and banking services, the economy, and improving the competence of national specialists in using digital financial systems. To further strengthen co-operation with the OSCE in these areas, it is planned to study the implementation of various regional projects, as well as regular professional development courses.
Then Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M. Chakyev reported on the work carried out to improve the qualification level of civil aviation personnel.
Addressing the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, noting that an Investment Forum was recently held in the capital at a high level, emphasized the need to analyze its results and prepare reports on attracting investments to our country in all directions.
Then, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Foreign Ministry noted that the large-scale activities initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag to create a favorable investment climate in the country are consistently continued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The representative composition of the participants of the Investment Forum and the agreements reached within its framework are a vivid confirmation of this.
At the same time, the importance of commissioning and construction of new energy, transportation, communication and logistics facilities on the Turkmen-Afghan border was emphasized. As it was noted, the implementation of these projects is a clear example of cooperation based on the traditions of good-neighborliness.
On behalf of the participants of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs took this opportunity to congratulate President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on these remarkable events and wished them good health, long life and success in all noble endeavors.
The meeting also considered a number of other important issues of state life, on which appropriate decisions were made.
