Turkmenistan has given the opportunity to land at Ashgabat International Airport to the planes of foreign airlines forced to change their routes due to the situation in the Middle East.
The country's airspace was immediately opened to all foreign carriers. FlyDubai from the UAE, Jazeera Airways from Kuwait, Russia's S7Airlines and other carriers were able to make an emergency landing.
Citizens of Central Asia, the Middle East, India, Russia and other countries were on board the aircraft. All passengers were provided with three hot meals a day and access to medical care.
For the aircrews, they have created recreational facilities in accordance with international civil aviation standards.
The Turkmen authorities note that the decision to open the airspace was taken within the framework of the policy of permanent positive neutrality and the norms of international law to support humanitarian ideals.
