Ashgabat, July 24 - Arzuw.news. Interparliamentary friendship groups of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting via video link to discuss the current state and prospects of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The participants of the meeting noted the strengthening of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan due to the efforts of the heads of state in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The sides emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue as an integral part of deepening bilateral cooperation.
The establishment of inter-parliamentary friendship groups on a bilateral basis expands opportunities for the exchange of experience in lawmaking and development of parliamentary diplomacy. The participants of the meeting noted the importance of expanding cooperation within the framework of international organizations and holding joint events.
The sides expressed readiness to support interstate cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy and strengthen the legal framework of relations. Special attention was paid to the importance of organizing working visits and meetings for further development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two neighboring states.
