Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov today held talks with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and the UAE on the margins of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization Summit.
During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of development of Turkmen-Pakistani relations. Special attention was paid to regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The foreign ministers emphasized the importance of implementing major regional projects. These include the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication lines along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route.
On the same day, Rashid Meredov held talks with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting with the UAE representative, the prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, especially in the gas industry, were discussed.
