Turkmen young tennis players won three gold and one bronze medal at the international tournament among athletes under 14 in Nonthaburi province in Thailand. The third gold medal was brought to the team by 13-year-old Ailara Kakabayeva, a 9th grade student of Atamurat Niyazov School for Gifted Children in the capital, who won the women's singles.
The bronze medal was won by Anna Ponyatova, a 9th grade student of the Turkmen-Russian school named after A.S. Pushkin, who defeated Lam Cheuk, a representative of Hong Kong, in the match for third place.
The tournament was attended by athletes from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Vietnam and Vietnam.
