UNDP conducted trainings on digitalization for 30 agencies of Turkmenistan

The United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan completed a series of trainings on digital transformation, which took place from 25 to 29 August. Representatives of nearly 30 ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, as well as the private sector participated in the training. Arzuw.news reports citing a source.

The events were part of a joint project to develop the Concept and State Program on Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 2026-2028. A separate intensive program was organized for the private sector, covering entrepreneurs, SMEs and innovative start-ups.

The training was conducted by Aare Laponin, UNDP's international expert on digital transformation, who presented best global practices to the participants. The program included the study of digital transformation of public administration, development of digital strategies, digital maturity assessment, cybersecurity and data management issues.

The main goal of the initiative is to promote sustainable economic development through the introduction of digital technologies, improving the efficiency of public administration and supporting innovation. The trainings became an important stage of preparation for the implementation of the program for the formation of digital infrastructure and development of human capital in the country.
