The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized the common history of the Turkic peoples

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the XII Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center in Gabala on October 7, reports Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Asmannews.

Before the start of the Hero-Arkadag summit, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev greeted him. The heads of delegations took part in a joint photo session.

In his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the President of Azerbaijan for the invitation and warm welcome. Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the OTG unites Turkic states linked by common history, language and culture and plays a key role in strengthening unity and cooperation between them.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the importance of concerted actions of the TNA countries in the context of global challenges and recalled that on the initiative of Turkmenistan the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Confidence. In this regard, he invited the summit participants to take part in the International Forum to be held on December 12 in Ashgabat and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.

The speech also emphasized the historical commonality of Turkic peoples and their contribution to the development of culture, trade and statehood, including the role of the Great Silk Road, which facilitated the exchange of knowledge and traditions between the peoples of Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated Turkmenistan's aspiration to develop cooperation with the CTG countries in the spheres of energy, transportation, logistics, communications and humanitarian activities. Special attention was paid to cultural and educational initiatives, including Days of Culture, academic exchanges and sports events.

Hero-Arkadag informed of plans to hold Days of Turkmen Culture in Azerbaijan and expressed readiness to realize joint projects on preservation of traditions of carpet weaving and horse breeding.

In conclusion, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to strengthening friendship and partnership with the TNA countries, wishing success to the participants of the summit and peace and well-being to the peoples of Turkic countries. President Ilham Aliyev thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his speech and supported the proposed initiatives.
