Speech of the National Leader of the Turkmen People at the XII Summit of the OTG Leaders

At the XII Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of the unity of the countries of the Turkic world, writes Asmannews.

Hero Arkadag expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the invitation and hospitality. According to him, the OTG unites peoples on the basis of common history, language, culture and spiritual heritage, and its key goal is to strengthen friendship and coordinate actions at regional and international levels.

In the difficult international situation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the priority of preserving peace, stability and trust. Hero-Arkadag recalled that on Turkmenistan's initiative, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust". On December 12, Ashgabat will host an international forum dedicated to this event and the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality.

The summit also emphasized the common cultural and historical foundation of Turkic states. Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan noted the contribution of ancestors to the development of statehood, trade and cultural exchange, including the routes of the Great Silk Road connecting China, the countries of the region and Europe.

Turkmenistan is actively developing cooperation with the CTG states in energy, transportation, logistics and communications. An important place is occupied by the cultural and humanitarian sphere: organization of Days of Culture, exhibitions, theater and film screenings, support of traditions of carpet weaving and breeding of horses.

Special emphasis is placed on academic exchanges, scholarships, historical and cultural heritage studies, sports and physical activity through international tournaments and youth programs.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness for close cooperation to achieve common goals and solve the challenges ahead. In conclusion, the Hero-Arkadag wished the participants of the summit success, and the peoples of the OTG countries wellbeing, prosperity and peaceful life.
