Russian Language Day and Pushkin's birthday celebrated in Ashgabat

Ashgabat solemnly celebrated the Day of Russian Language and the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet and writer, classic of Russian literature Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. This is reported in the electronic publication "TurkmenPortal".

The guests and residents of the Turkmen capital, as well as pupils of the Pushkin Turkmen-Russian Joint Turkmen-Russian School took part in the celebrations. Master classes and other events were organized for the participants of the celebrations. Children recited poems of the Russian poet in different languages of the world.

The cultural event was a testimony of deep respect for the history, literature and culture of the Russian people, demonstrating strong cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Russia.
