The first Turkmen-Mongolian business forum was held in Ashgabat on October 12, becoming an important step in expanding business ties between Turkmenistan and Mongolia.
How TDH reportsThe meeting of business circles of the two countries promoted the development of bilateral relations in the spheres of trade and economy, production and healthcare, transportation and logistics, agriculture and processing industry.
The business forum was held with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, heads and representatives of private companies of the friendly country. Representatives of various ministries and agencies, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs participated from the Turkmen side.
The current state and prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas were discussed. Special attention, along with the intensification of trade and economic interaction, was paid to the exchange of experience. Representatives of Mongolian business structures emphasized the importance of establishing direct links between the private sector of the two countries.
In this regard, the opportunities for the realization of joint investment projects in various sectors of the economy were considered.
The event, which started with a general plenary session, continued with two sections devoted to export-import and investment opportunities of the two countries, cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics.
The bilateral documents signed at the end of the Turkmen-Mongolian summit talks became a starting point for new opportunities for cooperation. These include two intergovernmental agreements on air communication and international road communication, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia.
The signed agreements on cooperation in the field of veterinary and animal husbandry and in the field of food and agriculture open prospects for the supply of such goods as wool, cashmere, leather, meat and meat products from Mongolia to Turkmenistan, as well as fruit and vegetable products, carpets and carpet products from Turkmenistan to Mongolia.
Also on October 12, the Mongolian businessmen held business meetings with Turkmen entrepreneurs, visited the Ashgabat textile factory, familiarized themselves with the enterprises of the industrial zone, visited the Arkach shopping center and the National Carpet Museum.
