Turkmenistan and UNESCO discuss cooperation issues

On October 12, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the President of the General Conference of UNESCO Mrs. Simona-Mirela Miculescu. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

S.M. Miculescu emphasized the special significance of cultural and humanitarian events held by Turkmenistan. In this context, the high level of organization of the International Conference "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis for Peace and Development" was noted.

The interlocutors noted the recent awarding to the city of Arkadag of a certificate of inclusion of the nomination "The Art of Akhalteke Horse Breeding and the Tradition of Horse Decoration" in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In addition, attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the spheres of archiving, digitalization, science and education.
