Ecology and business: Ashgabat collects plastic, glass and paper for recycling

August 11, Ashgabat, /Arzuw NEWS/. The Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan has launched another environmental campaign for garbage collection. This time the organization expanded the list of waste to include glass and paper in addition to plastic.

The collected material will be delivered to entrepreneurs for further processing. For example, plastic is used to make flex - a material for the production of irrigation pipes, etc.

Anyone can take part in the Challenge and do their bit for the environment. To do this, you need to collect various materials and waste not used in everyday life: cardboard, books, newspapers, magazines, paper boxes, plastic and glass bottles, window glass, cans and containers and call +99363864355. The organization's staff will help you with garbage collection.

The organizers also have their own collection point in Ashgabat, at the intersection of Alisher Navoi and Mopra streets, where activists can bring the collected garbage themselves. For every 8 to 10 kilograms of waste, one sapling is given as an incentive.

A spokesman for the Turkmen Nature Conservation Society told Arzuw.NEWS that the main goal of the campaign is to support the development of a culture of separate waste collection and recycling habits among citizens. Also, the initiative reduces their flow to the landfill.

In addition, there are plans to organize collection points for plastic, glass, and paper in the velayats and to repeat the mass action on planting seedlings.
