Heads of Foreign Ministries of the CA+Japan Dialogue meet online

The heads of foreign ministries of the five Central Asian countries met today under the auspices of the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Speaking at the meeting, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan R. Meredov noted the importance of the event, and also emphasized the significant expansion of interaction between the countries in the format of the CA+Japan Dialogue since its creation in 2004.

The meeting emphasized the need to consolidate efforts of the countries to counter the pandemic. For this purpose, Turkmenistan offered the participants of the Dialogue to develop a document defining joint work and specifying concrete actions in this direction.

Meredov noted the importance of bilateral conferences, which are held with the participation of Turkmen and Japanese physicians and allow for an effective exchange of information and experience. He also thanked the Japanese foreign minister for his willingness to implement a grant project in the field of medicine.

The ministers discussed plans to further promote the CA+Japan Dialogue and hold the meeting for the 8th time. Thus, the parties considered opportunities to create and agree on such documents as: The concept of a security partnership between Central Asian countries and Japan, a platform for expanding economic partnership, a roadmap for cooperation in IT issues, and a program of cooperation in the socio-cultural sphere.
