Information Technology Forum held in Turkmenistan

Within the framework of USAID's Safe Migration in Central Asia program in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, an information and awareness-raising forum for information technology specialists was held in Turkmenistan on August 2. This was reported by the Internet edition "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

The purpose of the forum is to increase the participants' knowledge of modern methods of ensuring security on the Internet, preventing fraud, human trafficking and other threats. It was noted that a new type of Internet threat has recently emerged - forced fraud. Victims of this type of fraud are job seekers who are lured into fraudulent schemes through fictitious job advertisements. In this regard, one of the topics of the forum was safe recruitment on the Internet. The forum was timed to coincide with the World Day against Trafficking in Human Beings.
