President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Morinari Watanabe paid a two-day working visit to Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
In Ashgabat, the FIG Head was accompanied by the President of the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) Abdulrahman Ben Saad Al-Shatri and AGU Vice-President Timur Abduvaliev. The visit to Turkmenistan, which took place as part of a tour of Central Asian countries, is aimed at strengthening cooperation in gymnastic sports.
Prospects for the development of gymnastics in Turkmenistan were discussed during the meeting of the FIG head with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyeva, Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports A. Saparov and NOC Secretary General A. Akmammedov. The delegation visited the training base of the national team in the Olympic City and held discussions with coaches and leading athletes.
