Turkmenistan and Pakistan agree on inter-parliamentary cooperation

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Pakistan A. Movlamov met with Secretary General of the International Parliamentary Congress (IPC) Senator Sitara Ayaz to discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation between the countries. The meeting was held on September 15 and was devoted to the prospects of intensifying cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. The participants placed special emphasis on deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation and exchange of experience between parliamentarians of the IPC and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

As a result of the talks, the sides reached an agreement to create sustainable channels of dialog for more effective coordination of efforts on issues of mutual interest. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of regular contacts and exchange of visits between representatives of the legislative bodies of the two states.

The diplomats expressed confidence that the development of inter-parliamentary ties will contribute to strengthening cooperation in the regional and international context. The meeting was aimed at further strengthening trust and mutual understanding between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
