The Georgian authorities decided to expand the list of countries whose citizens are allowed to enter the territory of the country, including citizens of Turkmenistan. It should be noted that since March 5, 2021 only air borders were opened. Tourists are still not allowed to enter the territory of Georgia by any other means.
In addition to Turkmenistanis, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan can also enter Georgian territory. It is mandatory to have a document confirming negative results of PCR test for COVID-19, and the test itself must be done 72 hours before departure. In addition, citizens will need to do another test already on the territory of Georgia. Secondary testing is done on the third day of stay in the country and at own expense.
Earlier, since March 1, the list of countries whose citizens are allowed to enter Georgian territory under similar conditions includes Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Tourists who have citizenship or are residents of the European Union, Israel, the United States, Qatar, Britain, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Bahrain, UAE and Qatar got the right to cross the Georgian air borders even earlier.
Recall that Georgia closed its borders a year earlier - in March 2020. Entry was sanctioned only for citizens of the country and their relatives. Then there was a gradual easing of restrictions.
