Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov checked the preparations for the UN conference in Awaza

Avaza, July 8 - Arzuw.news. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the Balkan province to monitor preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Hero Arkadag flew out of the capital's international airport in the morning and visited the Awaza multifunctional sports complex on the Caspian Sea coast, which will host an international forum under the auspices of the UN in August.

During the inspection, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the design projects and organizational measures taken for the event. All necessary conditions for the conference participants are being created in the Awaza complex at the final stage.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized the importance of ensuring fire safety, coordination of the work of all involved structures and information and awareness-raising support in different languages of the world. Special attention is paid to the preparation of premises for meetings, ensuring the work of communication facilities and the Internet, organizing the work of volunteers and media coverage of the event.

Major international forums have previously been organized on Turkmenistan's initiative: the first UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held in Ashgabat in 2016 and the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries in 2022.

The forthcoming conference is of significant political, economic, social and humanitarian importance and demonstrates the growing authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena. The country's status of neutrality has been recognized three times by the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
