The Head of Turkmenistan congratulates the Sultan of Brunei on the country's Independence Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on the national holiday - Independence Day. This is reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

In his congratulatory message, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere wishes for health, happiness and well-being to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, and wished peace, prosperity and further progress to the people of the State of Brunei Darussalam.

The State of Brunei Darussalam gained independence from Great Britain in 1984. This day was proclaimed a national holiday in 1985 by the government of the country and is celebrated annually on February 23. In total there are 5 official national holidays in the calendar of the country.
