An event was held in honor of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli in Geneva

An event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi, organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on March 19. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by the Head of the UN Office in Geneva T. Valovaya, Head of the UNESCO Office in Geneva A. Thompson-Flores, Post-Presidents and diplomats of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, Hungary, EU and other countries accredited to the UN Office in Geneva, representatives of the UN structural units and various NGOs, media and Turkmen Diaspora.

The ideas of humanism, peacefulness and love for the people in the works of Makhtumkuli and the role of the heritage of the great sage in the formation of Turkmen literature and world culture were emphasized during the speeches.
