Since 2009, Turkmenistan has been celebrating its professional holiday - the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers - on December 14 every year. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."
The oil and gas sector is an important sector of Turkmenistan's economy. At present, new technologies of gas and oil production and transportation are being actively developed and production capacities are being expanded. For further integration into the international economy, it is planned to diversify natural gas exports. Great prospects are associated with the TAPI project, which opens up the possibility of gas supplies to South Asia.
In addition, there is an active search for new fields, and much attention is paid to the training of young specialists. In particular, since 2017, a center of Turkmengaz State Corporation has been opened in the country, which trains more than a thousand qualified specialists per year.
